James Herbert Adrian, 84, of Jefferson City, MO, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1923, on a farm in the Marys Home area, the son of Theodore and Rosa Iven Adrian. On May 31, 1952, he was married in St. Martins, MO, to Irene Hilda Stegeman who survives at the home. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in post-war Japan. Mr. Adrian owned and operated Adrian Trenching from 1954 until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, past member of Holy Name Society, and a volunteer for the Samaritan Center. Mr. Adrian in his early years played baseball for the St. Thomas team. He was an avid trout fisherman and enjoyed tying trout flies. He also loved gardening, and watching his grandchildren play sports. Other survivors include: two daughters and their husbands, Sharon K. and Jeffrey Schnieders; and Miriam D. and Ross Allen, both of Jefferson City; three sons and their wives, Roger D. and Nancy Adrian, Columbia, MO; Gary W. Adrian and friend Patricia McCann, Fulton; Randall Randy and Stephanie Adrian, Holt Summit; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Alfred Eggen, Jefferson City; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Rachael Schnieders; and one brother, Wilfrid Adrian. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Brendan P. Doyle officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Samaritan Center 1310 E.
