James Lee Shikles
January 13, 1938 ~ November 20, 2019
He was born January 13, 1938, in Russellville, Missouri, the son of the late Harold Haywood and Alberta May (Morris) Shikles.
James was a 1956 graduate of Russellville High School.
He served his country in the United States Army.
On March 8, 1969, James was united in marriage at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Russellville to Carol Sue Wiser who preceded him in death on February 9, 2014.
James worked for the State of Missouri, Florsheim Shoe Factory, and for Modine Manufacturing as a line worker.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include two children, Tim (Krista) Shikles, New Bloomfield; Michelle Shikles (Sean Armour), Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Derek Shikles, Matthew Shikles, Lelah Shikles, all of New Bloomfield; and one brother, Morris Shikles, Marshall, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carol Sue.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Credille officiating.
Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery in Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to the American Alzheimer’s Association or to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
