James Paul "Jim" Kovar

James Paul "Jim" Kovar, 64, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born on November 19, 1957, in Columbia, Missouri, the son of the late Paul Masaryck Kovar and Marie Miller Kovar.
He was married on December 21, 1986, in Jefferson City to Ann Jordan Seigfreid who survives at the home. Their marriage was full of adventures and laughter.
A 1975 graduate of Hickman High School, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1981, and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1993.
Mr. Kovar worked with the Missouri Democratic Committee from 1984 to 1989, and with AmerenUE Corporation from 1989 to the present as a Consulting Engineer with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, he was very active in leadership roles with local Boy Scout troops sponsored by St. Peter Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as Assistant Scout Master, Treasurer, and mentor of the Order of the Arrow program.
He was a member of the National and Missouri Societies of Professional Engineers.
Jim was a federally licensed General Class amateur radio operator holding the call sign KC[zero]HOS, and, as a member of the Mid-MO Amateur Radio Club, was active in providing communications for several MS-150 Bike Rides benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Other survivors include three children, Samuel Paul Kovar, Blue Springs, Mo.; Mary Katherine Kovar, Overland, Mo.; and Peter Seigfreid Kovar, Rolla, Mo.; children of his heart, Anton (Dasha) Migurskiy , Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren of his heart, Ignat, Makar, Agnia, and Zahar, all of Chicago; two sisters, Caroline Dalmeida, San Francisco, Calif., and Janice Eimer, Columbia; one sister-in-law, Sally Seigfreid (Dennis) Harner, Austin Texas; two brothers-in-law, Jay (Suzanne) Seigfreid, Laurie, Mo., and Paul (Mary) Seigfreid, Mexico, Mo.; his second mom, Katherine Seigfreid, Naples, Fla.; and special friends, Allen and Barbara Herman, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Jeremy Secrist officiating.
Entombment will be in St. Brendan Cemetery, Mexico, Mo.
Memorials are suggested to Boy Scouts of America, Missouri Democratic Party, or Jefferson City Animal Shelter.

Ann and family so very sorry for your loss. Jim was such a gifted man. I’ll always remember working with him and the laughs he would bring. It was so fun when he shared you with us. David passed 5 years ago I truly know your pain and as you walk this journey if you need someone to walk with you, hold your hand or just be a presence I am here. Peace, prayers and love. He was definitely one of the good ones.
I worked with Jim and he was such a pleasant, mild-mannered man. He will be missed by all. Prayers for his family and friends.
