Janet Darlynn Ford, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Oak Tree Villas.

She was born March 30, 1941, in Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Dorel (Claycomb) Wood.

She was a graduate of Macon High School in 1959.

On May 12, 1961, she was united in marriage at First Baptist Church in Macon to John H. Ford who preceded her in death on December 13, 2010.

Janet was a loving and caring wife and mom.  She enjoyed reading, playing cards and puzzles, cooking and canning, painting, and going shopping as often as possible.  She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Survivors include three children, Lori (Randy) Bledsoe, Belton, MO; Jeffrey (Jessica) Ford, Germany; Jason (Michelle) Ford, Jefferson City; 17 grandchildren, Rose (Apollo) Ludeman, Rebecca (Dustin) Toburen, Amanda (Alex) Holt, Sarah (Paul) McCulley, Thomas Bledsoe, Ashley Ford, Kayla (Naomi) Ellingford, Tyler (Soya Seo) Ford, Chelsae Ford, Hannah Ford, Jacob Ford, Gretchen Ford, Johannes Ford, Rachel Ford, Joseph Ford, Andrew Ford, Katherine (Steven) Gutierriez; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, John “Mike” (Connie) Ford.

Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 p.m. with Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating.  The service will be livestreamed on the church’s website and Facebook page.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Chariton Cemetery in Callao, Missouri with Retired Associate Pastor Wayde Howell officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Concord Baptist Church Benevolent Fund or to Macon County Food Pantry Fund.
