Jeffrey Dale Arney, 47, of Jefferson City, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 24, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

He was born July 23, 1976, in Jefferson City, the son of Richard Keith and Anita Marie (Campbell) Arney.

Jeff attended Russellville High School.   For many years, he has worked for AP Plastics in Jefferson City as a forklift operator.

Jeff was a volunteer firefighter with the Russellville-Lohman Fire Protection District.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid collector of guns and knives.

Survivors include his mother, Anita Arney, Jefferson City; seven children, Christopher (Chrissy) Arney, Willis, TX; Morgan Arney, Jefferson City; Steven Arney, Aaron Arney, Crystal (Christian) Schrandt, Elizabeth Arney, D’Artagnun Arney, all of Lamoni, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Katie Arney, Jefferson City.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Russellville.  A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Kerr officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Russellville-Lohman Fire Protection District or to Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

  1. My sincere thoughts and prayers to the Arney Family. Jeff was a fantastic coworker and friend. Always dependable and there to lift a helping hand. Beloved son, father, and grandfather. His eyes would light up talking about his family, but his favorite thing to talk about was his grandbabies. He loved sharing pictures and videos of them with us. Jeff will be missed by so many but never forgotten.

  8. I’m so sorry for your loss. I went to school with Jeff and rode the school bus with him. He always had a great smile and funny sense of humor. Prayers for comfort to his family.
