Jerome Alfred Eynard, 88, of Jefferson City, died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Villa Marie Skilled Care. He was born on July 28, 1915 in Bonnots Mill, the son of August and Gertrude Kramer Eynard. He was married on February 27, 1943 in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Ethel Margaret Cranston who survives at the home. Other survivors include two sons, Stephen L. Eynard and his wife, Sylvia, Norfolk, Nebraska; and David W. Eynard, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Stephanie Manley, Tara Eynard, and Amy OConnor; one great-granddaughter, Cailynn OConnor; one brother, Wilfrid Eynard, Kansas City, MO; and Ruth Marie Kuster, Linn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albin Eynard; and a sister, Irene Mertens. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at St. Joseph Cathedral. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, POB 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653. A graduate of Bonnots Mill High School, Mr. Eynard was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving three bronze stars and the Purple Heart award. He was a salesman with Curtiss Candy Company; co-owner of a beverage distributorship; a commission salesman for various companies; and retired in 1978 as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Jefferson City for twenty years. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693; Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post No. 5; Veterans of Foreign Wars; National Association of Federal Employees; and the Retired Letter Carriers Association.
