John J. Fuehlen

He was born in St. Louis to Hermann and Johanna Sliney Fuehlen and brother of Margaret and Virginia Fuehlen. He was married on October 16, 1938 in Richmond Heights, MO to Marie Schwerdtmann. They made their home in St. Louis County and Lake Mykee before her death in August of 1990. He was married in October of 1992 in Jefferson City to Marjorie Mills who survives at the home at Lake Mykee. Mr. Fuehlen is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sue and Daniel J. Reed, Jefferson City; and Sallie and Gary Dugan, Jacksonville, TX; six grandchildren, Debbie Gray, Kelly Smulczewski, Jeff Dugan, Greg Reed, Ken Dugan, and Brendan Reed; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Fuehlin was employed with Porter Paint, Cook Paint, and O'Brien Paint Corporation, and later owned and operated Paints, Inc. in Webster Groves, MO and Affton Paints in Affton, MO from 1950 until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; Cherry Hills Country Club; and served as president of Meadow Lake Country Club in 1976. Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Institute at University Hospital, D.C. 205.00, Columbia, MO 65212. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as radar operator on a LSM-174 in the Pacific Theater in Okinawa and Tinsien, China. He was a 1932 graduate of St. Louis University High School and attended St. Viators College in Bourbonnais, IL.
