I never met Leroy, but know of him through his daughter-in-law Ann. She has shared his journey and path to Heaven. Now he is at peace with the Lord. Peace to all his family.
Leroy was a sweet man who was always ready with a smile and a joke. His heart was broken by the premature death of his daughter Annette. Now he is reunited with her and his mom and other family members in heaven. He is finally at peace. We will miss him!
Leroy whittle was a cousin who was always ready to help you. I called him one night when my brother in law passed away he showed up at the hospital even though it was late at night just to help the family. When we were younger he loved to play baseball and taught me to catch or get hit. I learned to catch and move out of the way. He is celebrating with his daughter, mother and father in heaven.
very sorry loss of leroy he is my class mate also play baseball , basketball and track. he was good guy.
Leroy was one of my older first cousins. He was always sweet and fun, even when I followed him around to watch him milk cows and clean squirrels. I remember being so proud when my class took a field trip to Central Dairy and he was working there making cottage cheese. We would watch him play baseball when he was a teenager and he was really good! As adults he always welcomed us to his home. I will miss Leroy, but I’m thankful that I will see him again in eternity.
Betty and I were very sorry to hear about Leroy’s passing. We enjoyed visiting with him and Linda whenever we ran into them in different places. Our son, Michael Is a friend of Micah’s from school. We wish comfort and great memories to all the family. Leroy was a wonderful person and we are sure that he is watching over you all.
Lit a candle in memory of John Leroy Whittle
Leroy was a co-worker with my husband, Ronnie Bates, at Central Dairy for umpteen years….he always had to tease me about something. He and Ronnie were friends for a very long time. Linda: deepest sympathy for you and your family.
Eugene High School class of 1961 will miss Leroy greatly. A good friend and classmate. Lloyd Sommerer
Linda and family, we are so sorry for your loss and want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. John and Darla Noble
I remember Leroy Whittle from Eugene High School, 1960-61. Leroy was a really good athlete and played sports with some other very good athletes, including Gary Gretlein, Ronnie Morrow and Dennis Binkley. He especially excelled at baseball and was a power hitter and, if memory serves, an excellent pitcher. I remember him hitting a homerun over the fence at Legion Field playing for Eugene n high school playoffs. My sympathy to his family, including Linda, also a Eugene graduate that I remember well. Alan Wright, Pawleys Island, SC.
Leroy and I shared many great times together playing American Legion baseball, hunting and playing one-on-one basket ball. I always admired his baseball hitting skills and when he hit a home run we were all thrilled, especially Leroy. I will always cherish those special memories!! Dick Scott
Sorry to hear of Leroys passing. Prayers for the family. I first met Leroy when Micah joined Troop 2. On a camp out that he had the fish for a fish fry. We made cobbler in a dutch oven, he was impressed how easy it was and said some ice cream would be good on that. He kept us in ice cream at summer camp for a number of summers. May he rest in peace.
