He was born in St. Elizabeth, MO to Joseph Boeckman, Sr. and Ida Dickneite Boeckman. He was married on June 15, 1948 in St. Martins to Dorothy Jane Brondel who survives at the home. Other survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Jada and Roch Schaefer, St. Martins; Joan and John Moore, St. Martins; four grandchildren, Michelle Bopp, Joe Schaefer, Jared Moore; and Jordan Moore; four brothers, Henry Boeckman, Linn; and Albert Boeckman, Adolph Boeckman, and Fred Boeckman, all of St. Martins; and two sisters, Alberta Koestner, Russellville; and Patricia Brondel, St. Martins. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and a sister, Anna Schepers. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church; Veteran of Foreign Wars; and served on the Board of Directors of St. Martins Senior Citizen Board. Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church, 7148 St. Martins Avenue, Jefferson City, MO 65109. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Boeckman was employed with International Shoe Company for twenty years, and later as a self-employed carpenter until his retirement in 1985.
