Juanita Dorothy Henry
June 7, 1926 ~ August 24, 2022
Juanita D. Henry passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the age of 96.
While she will be missed by many, we are thankful that she is again in the arms of her husband, Charles, who died in 1999. I am sure he greeted her with a kiss.
She will forever be remembered by her daughters, Diane (Bert) and Cathy; grandchildren, Kris (Pat), Kim (Jerry), Valerie (Randy), Stefani (Jeff), Nick and Erica (Shane); fifteen great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and many numerous relatives and friends. She will also be dearly missed by her friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Charles; siblings, Jeanne, Geri, Lorraine, Norma, and Sonny Boy; son-in-law, Tim; special friend, Sonny; and her parents, Oliver and Marie.
God broke the mold after she was born to the late Oliver and Marie Green, on Monday, June 7, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, where she continued living until moving in with her daughter and son-in-law ten years ago.
Growing up during the depression shaped her formative years and resulted in a lifetime of frugality, saving, and never wasting a thing.
She was a phenomenal seamstress and had a home-based alteration business for years and even after retiring from Sunmark Candy Company. She continued working with a friend cleaning houses.
She was an extremely active woman, taking care of her yard and flowers, keeping a spotless home, and walking two miles every day up until her recent decline in health. She was a lover of all things chocolate, baked goods, taking pictures, coffee, rug making, sunshine and her family. She never missed an opportunity to make you a meal, kiss and hug you and tell you she loved you. Some of our best memories took place on her patio where you could often find family and friends laughing, playing yard games and barbequing. She was known for making the best fried chicken, potato soup, spaghetti, and her famous cheesecake.
