Judith Ann Rockers
January 1, 1943 ~ October 24, 2026
Judith Ann “Judy” Rockers, 83, a devoted, loving, kind and compassionate woman, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her cherished family.
She was the New Year Baby of Fort Scott, KS born January 1, 1943, born at 12:03 am the daughter of Frank & Beulah (Bedingfield) Seaver.
She grew up in Lohman, Missouri where she attended Lohman Public School grades 1-7 and graduated from Russellville High School – Class of 1960.
As a young lady, Judy worked at Luetkemeyer Grocery & Gas where she met the love of her life, Arthur “Art” Rockers. They were married at St. Martin Catholic Church on April 15, 1961, and celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to his passing in May of 2025.
Her work life outside the home included more than 29 years working in state government including Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Revenue, and Division of Employment Security. While her children were young, she provided childcare in-home and was the bookkeeper for the St. Martin Catholic School Lunch Program.
She was dedicated to serving others in both the community and with her parish. She served as a member of the Thomas Jefferson Library Board. In addition, she was a devoted member of the St. Martin Catholic Church and served as a member of the Parish Council and the Ladies Sodality/Altar Society.
Judy displayed many great qualities and traits. She was not one to be in the “spotlight,” but she certainly was happy to share her light, love and talents with others. She was always thinking of others, and this often was shown through the number of cards she sent whether for a birthday, Christmas, sympathy or get-well wishes. She was happy to be the “wife of the man who sat on the front porch and waved at passers-by.” Some of her greatest talents were created by her loving hands. She created amazing, beautiful quilts and crocheted afghans for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many others were donated to St. Martin Parish Picnic.
She enjoyed traveling and especially trips to Silver Dollar City in Branson. She loved a good game of Trivial Pursuit, marbles, dominoes and the card-game “golf.” She was the kindest, sweetest person, unless you were playing these games – then she was cut-throat.
She was a woman of deep, abiding faith. She was dedicated to praying the rosary every day. She lived by the quote, “Let Go, and Let God.” When faced with challenges especially in regard to her macular degeneration and other health issues, she would always say, “there are people who have greater challenges than me,” or “If it’s not me, then it would be someone else.” She accepted and carried any cross that was given to her with no complaints.
She lived her life following the quote from St. Francis – “Preach the gospel at all times, use words when necessary.” She lived her life in a quiet, unassuming manner and loved people where they were.
She is survived by her four children, Jacquelyn Sue “Jackie” Coakley, Kathy Leigh (Bob) Jarman, Paul Anthony (Tina Wibberg) Rockers and Philip Ray (Trish) Rockers, all of Jefferson City; fifteen grandchildren, Leslie (Michael) Philbert-Torres, Ashley Philbert (Mercy Gonzalez), Megan (Brad) Cook, Chelsea Wright, Gregory (Victoria) Jarman, Jeffrey
