June Rose Berhorst, 85, of Westphalia, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Stone Bridge Assisted Living in Westphalia.
She was born on June 25, 1938, in Westphalia, the daughter of Clarence E. and Matilda E. (Scheppers) Cassmeyer.
June graduated from Fatima High School in 1956.
She was united in marriage on November 21, 1959, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia to Stephen Frank Berhorst, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.
She retired from Sears in September 1987 as sales manager after serving fifteen years. Following her retirement from Sears, she worked for Kliethermes Decorating.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia.
June enjoyed flower arranging, ceramics, doing crafts, and collecting Denim Days figurines. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and enjoyed watching them on T.V. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved taking pictures of them and making albums by the year.
Survivors include six children, Greg (Phyllis) Berhorst, Holts Summit; Debra (Roger) Fitzpatrick, Eldon; Darla (Martin) Veltrop, Taos; Dennis (Dana) Berhorst, Holts Summit; Kevin (Gretchen) Berhorst, Freeburg; and Sandra (William) Dulle, Freeburg; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Betty) Cassmeyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stephen, and two infant brothers, Herman Cassmeyer and Harold Cassmeyer.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Dylan Schrader officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Croix Hospice.

So sorry to here of June’s passing. We worked together at Sears, really enjoyed the times we were able to talk together.
We could always find ways to keep each of us laughing, we not only worked together but we became good friends. she will be missed.
