Karen Jean Cady
August 26, 1949 ~ January 11, 2022
She was born August 26, 1949 in California, MO to the late Gus and Nita (Schoch) Strobel. Karen grew up in Russellville graduating from high school in 1967. Celebrating 48 years of marriage, Karen married Gary Cady on August 25, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville. After 30 years of service, Karen retired from the Missouri Department of Revenue where she enjoyed spending time with the HRC Outlaws for lunches. Karen then worked at Cole R-1 Russellville School for many years as a lunch lady.
Shopping was Karen’s number one hobby. She was always taking her kids or grandkids with her and even talking Gary to go along. Whether it was mowing the whole farm, relaxing with an ice-cold beverage by the pool, watching TV or joking in group texts with the kids, Karen was always up to something. Her favorite past time was to spend time with her grandkids, never missing an opportunity to see them no matter how close or far away they were.
Survivors include her husband, Gary of Lohman, three children, Krista (Bryan) Lane of Tampa, Fl and their family, Addyson, Spencer and Brandon, Brittney (Matthew) Bonine of Jefferson City and their family, Carson, Khloie and Karley, Briggs Cady of Jefferson City, sister, Sue (Roger) Henley of Florida and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Strobel of Lohman. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Hewitt Strobel.
