Karl David Gundlach, 58, of Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at his residence. He was born on March 5, 1950, in Lancaster Wi., the son of Fredrick A. and Violette S. Hein Gundlach who preceded him in death. Karl came from a Crow-Indian heritage. Karl was a United States Army veteran serving three tours of duty in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a mountain guide in the Rocky Mountains for many years before moving to Missouri in 2003. He also worked as a ranch hand throughout the West. He loved animals especially dogs and horses. Survivors include his spouse, Deena Miller, of Jefferson City. A memorial mass will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather after the service. Memorials are suggested to the Karl Gundlach Memorial fund. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.   1. Sending my sincerest condolences, albeit 4 years later. We just found out a few months back and it has taken this long to track down his obituary. 🙁 He never changed in his good looks and great smile!We knew him growing up and I suspect he probably still had the same sense of humor as always.Karl was always a very caring man. He brought our beloved Sid to us as a puppy.I wish we could know more about his years of life after leaving Wisconsin for the last time in the early 90’s.
