Karl Gene Zinn, 51, of Jefferson City passed away on Saturday, February 13th, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on April 19, 1958, in Bethany, Missouri, the son of Gene Marvin and Muriel Lue McLain Zinn. He graduated from South Harrison High School in 1976 and attended Northwest Missouri State and Truman State Universities. He was a member of Bethany Lodge No. 97, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. Karl enjoyed reading, following sports, listening to music, and cooking. A proud Uncle, he closely followed his nieces and nephews in their various activities.
Survivors include one son, Brett Zinn, Greentop, Missouri; his parents Gene and Muriel Zinn of Simpson, Illinois; two brothers, Kurt Zinn and fianc Amanda Hartman of Hoover, Alabama, and Eric Zinn and his wife Nina Zinn of Indianapolis, Indiana; one sister, Sandra Brandt and her spouse John Brandt of Steedman, Missouri; three nieces, Mariah Brandt, Megan Brandt, and Sarah Zinn; and two nephews, William Brandt and Jason Zinn. Karl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl and Raymond Zinn, and Marvin and Nina McLain.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 20th, at Glendale United Methodist Church in Simpson, Illinois. Interment will be in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, Missouri. Those wishing to email tributes or condolences to the family may do so at the www.dulletrimble.com website.
