Kathie Ann Biesemeyer Redel, 66, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born November 26, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Roger William and Gloria Earlene (Lindsey) Biesemeyer.

Kathie was a 1974 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

On September 14, 1991, at the Governor’s Garden in Jefferson City, she married Robert Charles “Bob” Redel who survives.

Kathie started in the insurance business working for her father at State Farm Insurance.  She later worked as an insurance agent for Naught-Naught Agency from 1992 until her retirement August 3, 2019.

She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City, volunteered with Birthright of Jefferson City, and was a frequent donor to animal organizations.  Kathie enjoyed being with her family.  She was most proud of her sons and loved to be with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Redel, Jefferson City; four sons, Aaron (Allison) Jolly, Broken Arrow, OK; David Jolly, Nashville; Derek (Katy) Redel, New Smyrna Beach, FL; Ryan Redel, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Ashton Stratman, Luke Jolly, Zella Redel, Lily Jolly; four siblings, Mark (Tammy) Biesemeyer, Centertown; Kim Foster, Columbia; Eric (Leslie) Biesemeyer, Jefferson City; Kami Biesemeyer, Jefferson City; and her constant companion, Gracie, her tiny dog.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Adam Biesemeyer; a sister, Kristie Frank; and a nephew, Joseph Frank.

Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2022, at Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Kalen Thompson and her son’s, Aaron and David Jolly, officiating.

Memorials are suggested to United Network of Organ Sharing, the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota, Choose Life of Missouri, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

    If you look up Family in the dictionary, I think you will find Kathie’s name there. She was passionate and dedicated to her Family from the day I met her many years ago. To know her was to love her. My deepest condolences to her family.

I will be eternally grateful for the kindness and care she showed to my mother, Rosie, during the years she was at Villa Marie nursing home. She was always there for Rosie, right up to the end, I and I will never forget it.
