Kathryn Margaret Gembler, Jefferson City, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Desoto, MO, the daughter of Louis Henry and Catherine C. Beresville Smith. She was married on Dec. 23, 1945, in Sedalia, MO, to Frederick A. Gembler who died on Oct. 13, 1976. Mrs. Gembler received her education in Sedalia and was a graduate of Central Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary with the Iowa Department of Taxation in Des Moines where the couple lived for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; the X-Club; and enjoyed golf and bridge in earlier years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Barbara M. Goebel, Jefferson City; and Dr. Frances X. Meier and his wife, Jean, Jefferson City; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ann Pallanich; Emma Meier; Frances Bailey; and Marie Hazel; and four brothers, Fred Smith; Joseph Smith; Michael Smith; and Harry Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at St. Joseph Cathedral with the Rev. Joseph L. Shetler officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 8th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School Building Fund, 2301 W.
