Kelly Lock, 54, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on May 8, 1951 in Jefferson City, the son of Terence P. and Angeline Heislen Lock. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He was married on June 29, 1974 in Ste. Genevieve, MO, to Anne Elizabeth Chase who survives at the home. He was a 1969 graduate of Helias High School; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement from Lincoln University in 1973; and a Master of Science degree in Sociology from Lincoln University in 1976. Mr. Lock retired in 2005 as Superintendent of the Central Missouri Correctional Center at Church Farm following a career with the Department of Corrections in which he held numerous posts. He received the Governors award in 1975 as the Outstanding Institutional Parole Officer. In 1999 he received the Department of Corrections Directors Lighthouse Award for Outstanding Service. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; American Corrections Association; Missouri Corrections Association; Central States Wardens Association; and Cole County Board of Jail Visitors Advisory Board; Helias Athletic Boosters. He was a baseball coach for the Jefferson City American Legion and Jefferson Parks and Recreation, and coach for the Catholic Youth Organization Basketball program. He was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and the Missouri Department of Conservation Stream Team. Other survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Samuel K. Lock, Springfield, MO; and Ryan M. and Katie Lock, Kansas City, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Paulette Lock, Jefferson City; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris Lock-Sims and Alan Sims, Norcross, GA; Mary and Clinton Flowers, Jefferson City; and Germaine and Mike Haymart, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his father. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Brendan Doyle officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
