Larry Wayne Wunderlich, 75, lifelong resident of Lohman died Tuesday, October 15, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born January 27, 1949, son of Edward “Eddie” and Mathilda (Hoffman) Wunderlich. Larry lived on the family farm his entire life, farming and working with his brothers and sisters.  He attended Cole R-1 Russellville and was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church-Stringtown. Larry honorably served in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.

He was a carpenter, working aside his brothers at W&W Construction. He built many homes and buildings in the local area and passed those skills on to his son and grandchildren.  Larry was a proud father and grandfather, spending his days visiting family at Xtreme Body and Paint; sharing lasting memories with his grandchildren that they will always carry. Larry could usually be found making his rounds, eating at his favorite fried chicken spots and drinking tea.

Survivors include son, Travis (Tracy) Wunderlich of Eugene; daughter, Elizabeth (Chris) Russell of Lohman; brother, Lee Roy (Brenda) Wunderlich of Lohman; sister, Linda Hart of Lohman; sister-in-law, Carol Wunderlich of Arizona; grandchildren, Nolan (Camryn), Colin, Korbin and Ethan Wunderlich, Paige (Daniel) Olsen, Jordan (Kelsey) Russell and Larah Russell; plus 3 great grandchildren, Karahlyne, Knox, & Walker, with the 4th on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert (Rita) and Alvin Wunderlich; one sister, Rose Marie Lewis; one brother-in-law, Bill Hart.

Larry’s gentle spirit will be missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stringtown.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Whittle officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
