Leona Elizabeth Martin, 91, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at her residence.

She was born August 20, 1933, in Rich Fountain, the daughter of Anton and Catherine (Mengwasser) Raab.

She was united in marriage on August 18, 1962, in Rich Fountain to Norman Dean Martin who preceded her in death on May 24, 2024.

Leona began her career with Tweedie Footwear Corporation, followed by International Shoe Company, and later worked over twenty-five years with Scholastic Inc.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Leona was devoted to reciting the Rosary and watching the Catholic Television Network, EWTN. In earlier years she enjoyed canning produce that her family and friends gave her.

Survivors include one son, Kevin (Patti) Martin, Jefferson City; one grandchild, Sam (Jamie) Martin; several step-grandchildren; two sisters, Maryann Hurst, Jefferson City; and Pauline Stegeman, Wardsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; two brothers, Alfred Raab, and James Raab; three sisters, Loretta (Dud) Lairmore, Mildred (Joe) Taube, and Irene (Steve) Hoffman; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Hurst, Jr., and Ed Stegeman.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m.

Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
