Leonard Herman Lueckenotte

Leonard Herman Lueckenotte, 84, of Centertown, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.
He was born December 19, 1937, in Teal Bottom (Henley), Missouri to Louis W. and Anna C. (Sommer) Lueckenotte.
Leonard served in the United States Army and was trained as a sharpshooter. He later served in the Army National Guard.
On June 3, 1967, at St. Peter Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Rose Mueller who preceded him in death on January 10, 2020.
Leonard was a carpenter with Veit and Hoelscher Construction and later with Hoelscher Construction. During his lengthy career, Leonard helped build many homes in the Jefferson City area. After his retirement, Leonard worked part-time at the Jefferson City Country Club.
He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church and a past board member of Moreau View Village.
He enjoyed fishing, playing marbles with his friends, cards with his grandsons, taking his great-grandsons on gator rides and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He said his favorite seat in church was the back pew.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; one grandson, Josh (Reba) Lueckenotte, Centertown; two great-grandsons, Cash and Cade Lueckenotte; five brothers, Alfred Lueckenotte; Raymond Lueckenotte; both of Jefferson City; Jerry (Jean) Lueckenotte, Centertown; Marvin (RoseAnn) Lueckenotte; and Mike (Terri) Lueckenotte, both of Wardsville; a sister, Doris (Danny) Bax, St. Anthony; and a sister-in-law, Ann (James) Twehus, Wardsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kyle; and an infant sister, Lois Lueckenotte.
Visitation will be 9-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at St. Martin Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jason T. Doke officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
