Lisa Ann McDaniel, 55, of Jefferson City passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Boone Hospital.

She was born August 16, 1966, in Jefferson City to Leander Peter and Dorothy Elizabeth (Lueckenhoff) Berendzen.

She was united in marriage on September 4, 1998, in Jefferson City to Bobby Lee McDaniel who survives at the home.

Lisa went to grade school at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School and graduated from Cole R-V Eugene High School.

Lisa spent her career with the State of Missouri Employment Security retiring as the Labor and Industrial Relations Manager.

Lisa’s greatest joy and love was being with her family, especially babysitting her grandchildren. She was enjoying her retirement, being with her childhood friends, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved anything to do with Elvis and was so excited to see the recent movie about his life.  Watching her children and grandchildren play sports and being a Jay Band mom for Christopher was pure fun for her.

Lisa’s last and final gift of donating her organs for the benefit of others will be long remembered by so many.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby; a son, Christopher Lee McDaniel, Jefferson City; her mother, Dorothy Berendzen, Mary’s Home; two step-daughters, Kimberly Lynn (Jesse) Carter, Holts Summit; and Holly Renee (Ashley) Wiggins, Middle Wallop, England; six grandchildren, Oliver McDaniel, Lillian Carter, Jesse Carter, Jr., Jack Wiggins, Charles Wiggins, and Sam Wiggins; five siblings, Daniel Berendzen, Mary’s Home; Barbara (Brad) Adrian, Mary’s Home; David (Karen) Berendzen, Mary’s Home; Mike (Vonda) Berendzen, Mary’s Home; and Mary (Bill) Surface, Versailles; many nieces and nephews; and her father-in-law, Howard McDaniel and his wife, Sallie, Ozark.

She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Doris Berendzen; and her mother-in-law, Linda Laudermith.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2022, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home with the Rev. Alexius Ekka officiating.

Burial will be in Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery in Mary’s Home.

Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows School.

  9. As the Division Director of Employment Security in 2002-2004 and 2009-2013, it was always a pleasure to work with Lisa. I don’t think I ever saw her, either in a meeting or the hallway, that she wasn’t smiling! Her dedication to her job and to the citizens she served in her capacity as a Labor and Industrial Relations Manager is so greatly appreciated. And I know how much she loved all of her family! Please accept my sincerest sympathies over the loss of Lisa. She was a wonderful lady.
