Lorene Elizabeth Heet

She was born September 25, 1921, in Lohman, Missouri, the daughter of William and Bertha Eva (Knernschield) Horak.
She was united in marriage on October 29, 1949, at St. Martin Catholic Church to Harold Henry Heet who preceded her in death in 1979.
Lorene began working as a midwife for local families and later worked for California Pants Factory, Tweedie Shoe Factory, and Selmier Perles Laundry Mat. Following her marriage to Harold, she spent the following years as a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos and a member of the St. Ann’s Sodality. Lorene enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and sheltering stray animals.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Heet, Jefferson City; Wayne (Valerie) Heet, Owensville; Steven Heet; two grandchildren, Tanner Heet and Slater Heet; and one sister, Velma Jacobs, Lohman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Heet; and two brothers, Marvin Horak and Elmer Horak.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Penn officiating.
Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.

So sorry to hear of Lorene. She will always have a place in my heart. She was my stuffed animal lover! Loved getting to know her. Kim McMackins
