Lorine Marie Franken, 88, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, September 25, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on March 3, 1915 in Castle Rock, MO, the daughter of Albert A. Schepers and Christina Toebben Schepers. She was married on November 23, 1939 in Wardsville, MO to Paul Theodore Franken who died on July 21, 1983. Mrs. Franken is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Marilyn & Bob Bock, St. Charles, MO; Jane and Fred Szabados, Jefferson City; and Gaiola M. Sochinski, Jefferson City; a daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Franken, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Levi Schepers, Wardsville; and two sisters, Edna Franken, St. Louis; and Dolores Thruston, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Paul Franken; a grandson, Jeffrey L. Franken; five brothers, John Schepers, Clarence Schepers, Vincent Schepers, Norbert Schepers, and Wilfred Schepers; a sister, Clara Prenger; and an infant sister, Dorothea Schepers. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2003, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway, Jefferson City, with the Rev. James M. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundatin, 1305 Swifts Highway, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or Samaritan Center, 1310 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. A homemaker, Mrs. Franken had been employed in earlier years with Oberman Manufacturuing Company, and with the Missouri Department of Revenue Division of Reciprocity for thirteen years. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she was active with the Perpetual Adoration, Prayer Line, and Parish Council. She was a charter member of the Daughers of Isabella; a member of the Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary; Ladies Sodality; St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary; Senior Bowling League; Central Bank Classic Club; various card clubs; and the Monday night weekly neighborhood block Rosary.
