Lucille Mary Fischer, 87, of Wardsville, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Heisinger Lutheran Home. She was born on May 26, 1917 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Emil John and Clara Mary Flessa Stegeman. She was married on Sept. 1, 1943 in Wardsville to Otto Leonard Fischer who survives. A 1935 graduate of St. Peter High School and a homemaker, Mrs. Fischer taught at Cedar Grove and Moreau Bend rural schools for three years, and was later employed with Diemler Grocery and the Missouri Department of Conservation. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church; Blair Oaks Band Boosters; Married Ladies Sodality; charter member of St. Stanislaus PTA; and was an active leader in the 4H. Other survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Robert Rodeman, Jefferson City; Ann and Paul Berendzen, Jefferson City; and Rosie and Dan Steck, Jefferson City; three sons and their wives, Richard and Marilee Fischer, St. Thomas; Stephen and Linda Fischer, Jefferson City; and Gerard and Teresa Fischer, Jefferson City; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister and her husband, Pauline and Marcellas Markway, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Stegeman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Wardsville. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 6th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
