Lyle Holzbierlein

Lyle Lee Holzbierlein, 67 of Russellville passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at his home.
He was born May 7,1955 in Jefferson City to the late Clyde and Ruthilene (Smith) Holzbierlein. Lyle was a 1973 graduate of Russellville High School. Lyle continued his education at Lincoln University receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1979. He later achieved his Master’s Degree in Education from William Woods College. Lyle began his teaching career at Eugene High School where he taught History, Physical Education and Health. He coached the girl’s basketball and softball teams too. Lyle then taught at Tuscumbia High School finishing his last five years as Principal before retirement.
Lyle was a member of the Missouri Retired Teacher’s Association and past member of the Russellville Volunteer Fire Department. When he wasn’t rooting for the Chiefs, Cardinals or Mizzou Tigers, you could find Lyle watching golf on TV. Lyle had a passion for fishing. His favorite spot was at the Lake of the Ozarks usually fishing with his favorite fishing buddy, Charlie Vaughn. Lyle always looked forward to his yearly fishing trips with his “Six Pack” of friends which took them all over the U.S. and Canada.
Lyle is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Derek) Clements of Batesville, AR, two nieces, Melissa (Terry) Blankenship of High Point and Joanie (Brandon) Cook of Jamestown, two nephews, Eric (Lydia) Holzbierlein of Germany and Jason (Ellen) Romero of High Point, seven grandnieces and nephews and one great grandniece. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William “Bill” Holzbierlein.
Visitation will be Friday, March 10, 2023 at Trimble Funeral Home, Russellville from 3:00 p.m. until the 5:00 p.m. memorial service. Brother Paul Young of Mt. Olive Baptist Church will officiate. Private family burial will take place in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.

So sorry Lyle was a very nice person. I will certainly miss talking with him at the Eagle Stop. When he did not come in I always asked about him.
