Mahlon Joel Marr, 43, of Russellville, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 21, 1979, in Jefferson City to Randal Allen “Randy” and Lynn Renee (Fischer) Marr.

He was a 1997 graduate of Russellville High School.

Joel worked as an auto mechanic most recently at 4-Wheel Parts Plus in Jefferson City. He also worked for ten years in cabinet woodworking.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church-Stringtown. Joel loved to go fishing, bow shoot, and work on his truck.

Survivors include his parents, Randy and Renee Marr, Russellville; his twin brother, Ronald “Ron” (Stephanie) Marr, Russellville; his paternal grandmother, Nadine Marr, Russellville; maternal grandmother, Sharon Fischer, Russellville; one niece, Brianna Finley; one step-niece, Shaelin Kirchner; and two step-nephews, Isaac Kirchner and Ethan Kirchner.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ronald Marr; and maternal grandfather, Mahlon Fischer.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Stringtown with Rev. Brian Whittle officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the church’s Facebook page.

Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church-Stringtown.

Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
