Margaret M. Johnson, 87, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Golden Living Center.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1922, in Auxvasse, Mo., the daughter of the late Richard and Bertha Henderson Galbreath. She was married on Feb. 5, 1941, in New Florence, Mo., to Floyd Sylvester Johnson who died on Oct. 5, 1981. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the New Florence, Mo., Baptist Church. A homemaker, she also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. As a loving mother to her family, she greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Donald (Mary Ann) Johnson, Jefferson City; Floyd (Mary) Johnson, Holts Summit, Mo.; and Richard (Patsy) Johnson, Jefferson City; five daughters, Gloria J. Seeney, Jefferson City; Margaret (Ralph) Butler, Jefferson City; Mable Marie Brooks, Harker Heights, Texas; Loretta (Ronnie) Ferguson, Harker Heights, Texas; and Mary Frances(Herb) Gonder, Huntsville, Ala.; twenty-three grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Myrtle) Galbreath, Des Moines, Iowa; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Percy Johnson; six sisters, Ethel Lewis, Laura Guthrie, Virginia Canada, Frances Martin, Susie Peden, and Helen Baker; and two brothers, Lafayette Galbreath, and Joe Galbreath.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Montgomery City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
