Marie Ann Scheppers, 93, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. She was born on Sept. 20, 1911 in Jefferson City, the daughter of George and Louise Luecke Scheppers. Miss Scheppers was employed with Wagner Electric Corporation of St. Louis from 1942 until her retirement in 1975 when she returned to Jefferson City. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Anns Sodality; Legion of Mary Auxiliary; Diocesan Cursillo Movement; Daughters of Isabella; American Association of Retired Persons; and the White House Retreat League. She was a life member of St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary; a volunteer in the hospitals mail room; and was active in community affairs. Survivors include three nephews, Joe Scheppers, Jefferson City; Dr. Robert Wankum, Jefferson City; and Dr. Jerry Wankum, St. Louis; six nieces, Marydeth Priesmeyer, Columbia; Janet Joynt, Portsmouth, Maine; Paula Nordstrom, Jefferson City; Julie Soener, Boonville; Teresa Tolksdorf, Jefferson City; and Mary Brownsberger, Salem, Oregon; nine great-nieces; thirteen great-nephews; and one sister-in-law, Eleanor Scheppers, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by two brother, Aloysius Al Scheppers; and Norbert H. Scheppers; and three sisters, Juliana Scheppers; Rosalie Wankum; and Rita C. Brownsberger. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Marion J. Makarawicz officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Masses or a charity of the donors choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home (893-5251) is in charge of arrangements.
