Marie Johanna Koester, 86, of Westphalia, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Westphalia Retirement Center. She was born on August 21, 1922, in Westphalia, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Mertensmeyer Koester. A homemaker all of her life, she worked as a babysitter for various families. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include: one sister, Bernadette Brendel, Loose Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Philip M. Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, Mo the a prayer service at 6 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund.
