Marie Louise Helmers Fisher, 88, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born on March 15, 1919, in Chester, IL the daughter of Henry and Emma Welge Helmers. She was married on December 12, 1936, in Chester IL To Paul E. Fisher. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1986. A homemaker all of her life, she worked as an electrician wiring battleships in Baltimore Harbor, MD during World War II. Marie also was a school bus driver in Jefferson City and Hannibal. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon S. and Tim Hirner, Holts Summit; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry P. and Janice Fisher, Colleyville, TX; and one grandson and his wife, David and Holly Hirner, Annapolis, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dietrich Helmers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. John Hobratschk officiating. Entombment will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
