Marilyn Alice Brandt, 85, of Russellville, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at University of Missouri Hospital.

She was born May 28, 1939, in California, Missouri, the daughter of Victor J. and Nadine L. (Pace) Scott.

Marilyn was a 1957 graduate of California High School.

She was united in marriage on May 28, 1961, at First Baptist Church in California to Alfred Otto Brandt who preceded her in death on August 9, 2019.

Marilyn was employed with Community Point Bank of Russellville as a Bank Teller and later was a Dispatcher for KOPI.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church – Stringtown where she helped with various church functions. She enjoyed being outside working in her Vegetable Garden and around the family farm. She loved to watch St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Mizzou Men’s & Women’s Basketball, enjoyed baking and especially making her Christmas cookies and pies.

Marilyn was a hardworking, loving and kind soul who would also take care of everyone else before herself. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her two children, Debbie Brandt, Scott Brandt; one grandson, Scott Andrew Brandt, Jr.; two sisters -in-law, Gladys Moll, Joyce Linhardt; brother-in-law, Earl Brandt; nieces and Nephews, Sherri Wilbers, Melanie Sigafoose, Melissa Moll, Kimberly Otto, Blake Brandt and Annette Brandt; three great nieces and one great nephew, Abigail Sigafoose, Andie Otto, Kate Brandt and Jake Brandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Joan Koestner.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Russellville.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church – Stringtown with Pastor Brian Whittle, officiating.

Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery or American Kidney Fund.
