Louie and Mary were members in my Sunday School Class at Union Hill Baptist in Holt’s Summit ,Mo….we enjoyed them so much !….They were wonderful people !
If you were hoping to find a person who was Caring, Compassionate, Loving and Sincere, you needed to look no further than Louie Moyers. With a pure heart, Louie embraced every moment of life. His world was broad in perspective, yet humble. He NEVER left his beloved Marquand in spirit and was always ready to share his passion for our hometown. I had the good fortune of being able to call him my cousin, but more than that, my friend. His memory will always hold a special place in my world – thank you, Louie… I will miss you! …Denny Ward

My wife and I met Mary and Louie Moyers in 1985 at Glenfield Baptist Church in Illinois and became close friends for over 35 years. Louie was later diagnosed with cancer and underwent bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy but the prognosis was bleak. His physician stated Louie may have a year or less to live. During that time our church men’s group held a retreat. Louie was weak from the chemotherapy treatments, but wanted to be with the men. We wrapped him in a blanket and made a bed in the back of a van so Louie could lie down during the five hour drive to northern Michigan. The first night during devotions Louie asked the thirteen men in attendance to lay hands on him and pray that God would heal him from cancer, specifically so he and Mary could raise Nathan, who was then a young boy. What followed was an emotional, heartfelt, powerful prayer vigil. Louie laid in the middle of the room and the men laid on the floor, surrounding him, laying thirteen sets of hands on his body. For over two hours the men cried out to the Lord to heal Louie. I’ve never been involved in anything as powerful as that prayer vigil. God answered the prayers that were lifted up to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that evening and a short time later, Louie’s cancer was in remission. Louie’s unwavering faith in God touched many lives. I’m thankful to have known Louie Moyers and be able to call him my friend and brother in Christ. Ken Creasman
