Marjorie Mary Goeller, 84, of Russellville, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 3, 1939, in St. Thomas, the daughter of Edward and Helen (Weber) Strope.

Marjorie was in the first graduating class from Helias High School in 1956.

She was united in marriage on July 30, 1960, in St. Thomas to Raymond Frank “Ray” Goeller, who preceded her in death on November 3, 1997.

Marjorie worked with the State of Missouri for thirty-five years in different agencies, retiring in 1994.  She worked another five years as a teller for Central Bank.

Having lived in Russellville since 1967, she was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and served on several church committees.

An outdoorsman, Marjorie had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening, and all animals.  After her retirement, Marjorie loved her time traveling to many states.

Marjorie was a good person.  Her last months were made extra special because her daughter, Amanda, cared for her and they enjoyed many happy days together.

She is survived by two children, Michael Goeller, Springfield, Missouri; and Amanda Goeller, Russellville; three grandchildren, Jonah Goeller, Hannah Goeller, and Lavnder Goeller; and a brother-in-law, Dale Herigon, St. Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Marilyn Herigon.

Visitation will be 9-11:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Russellville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Jason T. Doke officiating.

Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
