Mark Browning
September 3, 1958 ~ June 21, 2023
Mark Browning, 64, of Boonville passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the John Cochran VA Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born September 3, 1958 in Boonville to the late Roy Browning and Alice (Monnig) Browning of Boonville. After graduating from Boonville High School in 1976, Mark enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a master mechanic with the ability to fix every type of motor vehicle brought his way. While serving in Germany, Mark met the love of his life, Yupadee Nawvanivet. They were married in Denmark on July 4, 1985. He continued his military career stationed in Korea, Ft. Leonard Wood and Ft. Campbell before retiring in 1996. Mark and his family returned to Boonville where he worked at the state prison as a corrections officer and retired as a case manager after 20 years of service. While working at the prison, Mark also worked at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts for 10 years.
Mark took great pride in caring for his family, always putting them first. His hard work in holding down two jobs helped put his children through college. Whether it was watching them play sports, teaching them how to fish, drive a car or steer a boat, Mark was their unwavering support. He adored Yupadee with complete trust in leaving family decisions “up to you”. Mark enjoyed their many trips to Yupadee’s home country of Thailand, visiting relatives and soaking up the warm tropical weather. He was always available in helping relatives who wanted to become citizens of the United States.
Survivors include his wife, Yupadee of Boonville, mother, Alice of Boonville, three children, Jesse of Columbia, Thomas of Boonville, Tracy of Columbia, granddaughter, Lily “Munchkin” Erickson, sister, Beverly (Bill) Brondel of Boonville, three brothers, Michael (Carol) of Montgomery, AL, Timothy of Boonville, Matt (Lindsay) of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Roy “Drew” Browning Jr.
