MARVIN HERBERT HOLLIDAY, SR.

Marvin Herbert Holliday, Sr., 81, of Jefferson City, on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center peacefully left this world with his family present.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1929, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Arthur and Clara Philomena Loethen Holliday. He was married on May 2, 1953, in St. Elizabeth, Mo., to Alvera Anna Kirkweg who survives at the home. Mr. Holliday was employed with Tweedie Footwear Corporation, Harvey Hagner Construction, and Joe Thoenen Construction before owning and operating Marvin Holliday Home Builders until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and the Mens Sodality; Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1003; Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5; and was a former 4H Leader.
Other survivors include five children, Victoria C. Holliday, Mesquite, Texas; Randy (Kathy) Holliday, Jefferson City; Kevin (Cathy) Holliday, Jefferson City; Kathy (Jeff) Wildhaber, Lohman, Mo.; and J.R. (Tina) Holliday, Jefferson City; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry (Joan) Holliday, Jefferson City; and one sister, Anna Marie (Elmo) Crane, Harrisburg, Mo. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Payton Meidell and Hanna Meidell; two sisters, Elizabeth Livingston and Margaret Hicks; and four brothers, Charles, Arthur, Harold, and John Alfred Holliday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 2305 W.
