Mary Beth Sherrell, 53, of Tuscumbia, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 24, 2018, with her long time companion, John Hawken, by her side. She was born July 27, 1964, in St. Louis, the daughter of Robert Joseph and Marcia C. (Nowakowski) Hagan, Sr. She was a graduate of Helias High School in 1982. She was married on September 14, 1991, in Jefferson City to Mark Sherrell who preceded her in death. Mary Beth had a huge heart, loved animals, and enjoyed her vegetable garden. Mary Beth was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be missed dearly. She worked as a bartender for Madisons Cafe in Jefferson City and Red Oak Inn in Tuscumbia. Survivors include her parents, one sister, Kathy Schanzmeyer, Jefferson City; Kathys children and grandchildren, Jennifer (George) Tergin, Jefferson City; Ryan (Johnna) Schanzmeyer and Makayla and Nola Schanzmeyer, all of California; Brooke (Sam) Wallace, Jefferson City; one brother, Robert J. (Sharon) Hagan, Jr. and his children, Lauren Hagan and Emily Hagan, all of Jefferson City; and her long time companion, John Hawken, Tuscumbia. She was preceded in death by her husband. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date with her family. Memorials are suggested to Wild Thing Feline/Fix Program, 123 E.
