  7. So very sorry to hear about Mary Joy’s passing. She always had a beautiful smile. My thoughts and prayers are with the family

  8. I am very sorry for the loss of your mom. I had the privilege of getting to know your mom when I worked at DNR. She was such a “Joy” to know. Always kind, thoughtful and smiling. She always beamed when talking about her kids. She had a very strong work ethic. I admired her.

  9. So very sorry to hear about “Joy’s” passing. I remember a lot of great times spent together when we were young kiddos. It seemed like just yesterday. Where did that time go? I certainly will do many kindnesses in her honor. What a wonderful last wish. My condolences to Joy’s family and to all those who held her in such high regard.

  10. Oh, what sweet, crazy memories I have of “Joy Brown.” Along with Sue, we would walk all over Jeff City, eating french bread & cheese; too young to drive. We went to a Beatles concert in St. Louis one summer & yelled our heads off. We attended a Lovin’ Spoonful/Association concert in St. Louis; slept on my grandparents pool table. So many great memories. I will dedicate my future random act(s) of kindness to Joy and her sweetness.

  11. Joy’s happy spirit was always contagious! Her accomplishments impressed me too: an employee-of-the-month at the Department of Natural Resources; a water-aerobics exercise leader; a thoughtful giver of attention to friends; and a creative writer who wrote short stories outside of our regular high school assignments. I feel such sorrow at the death of my wonderful high school friend. May Joy rest in peace, and God bless all of her family. Sincerely, Elaine Bode-Oliver

  12. Prayers and hugs to the family. Joy was a very kind and generous lady who my wife and I always enjoyed being around. She will be missed by many.

  13. Was very saddened to hear of Joy’s passing! As a cousin from out of state, we did not get to Jefferson City very often. However, when we did come up Joy, just like her dad, my Uncle John, always made us feel very welcome. Joy was certainly appropriately named. Her final request says all you need to know about Joy. Joy’s family should be, and I am sure is, very proud.
