Mary Louise "Polly" Wankum

March 31, 1935 ~ August 8, 2018
She was born March 31, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Willie M. Clouse.
She was united in marriage on December 6, 1965, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Gerald Joseph "Gary" Wankum who survives at the home.
Polly was a loving homemaker. She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. Polly enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, playing board games, and when out in public socializing with anyone.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Wankum, Lohman; Rachel (Donald) Yealy, Pittsburgh, PA; Rebecca (William) Lucas, Dallas, Oregon; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Ethan Yealy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Bonnie Grimes.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St Martins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at St. Martin Catholic Church.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Jefferson City.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, 2400 Bluff Creek Dr., Columbia, MO 65201.

It was such a joy to be able to care for Polly. I miss her but I take comfort in the fact that I know I will see her again one day in paradise. Thank you, Gary, Rachel and Rebecca for sharing Polly with me and entrusting me with her care, and allowing me to care for all of her very loving family. Much love to you all.

Jeannie & I were sorry to learn of Polly’s passing. Polly was a great neighbor and friend and will be missed! Rachel, Becky, and Suzi were like sisters and Polly was there to watch over them when ever and where ever needed. Gary – TAKE EXTRA GOOD CARE!
Gary, So sorry to hear of the passing of Polly. I will keep her & your family in my prayers. You & Polly were always so nice to me & Dave & Rosemary Chrestenson. I always enjoyed working with you when you were with IBM & I was with Caterpillar in Montgomery.
