Matilda Marie Schwaller, 96, of Jefferson City, died Friday, June 15, 2007, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on Nov. 3, 1910, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Adelaide Heimericks Vetter. She was married on May 10, 1938, in Jefferson City to Leo George Skip Schwaller who died on Feb. 13, 1997. She was a 1926 graduate of St. Peter High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Schwaller was employed as a bookkeeper prior to her marriage with Oberman Manufacturing Company from 1926-1930; and with Henry J. Vetter Machine Shop from 1930 to 1938. She was a life-long member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Altar Sodality; St. Rita Quilting Circle; and was a charter member of St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, John J. Schwaller; David L. and Janet Schwaller; and Charles E. Schwaller, all of Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Rackers and Sr. Frieda Marie Vetter; and one brother, Victor B. Vetter. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank A. Bussmann and Deacon Robert J. Rackers officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 18th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peters Catholic Church or Masses.
