Matthew George Lock, 45, of Jefferson City, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.

He was born October 7, 1974, in Jefferson City, the son of Melvin Theodore and Cecilia Eveyln (Bisges) Lock.

A 1993 graduate of Helias High School, Matthew received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.

Matthew was a bricklayer.

He played football and was a wrestler all four years of high school at Helias. Matthew continued his football career at Missouri Southern State University playing all four years. He loved to golf, play poker and fantasy football. He was an avid Denver Broncos and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Matthew loved playing with his nieces, Maggie and Morgan.

He is survived by his parents, Melvin and Cecilia Lock, Jefferson City; a brother, Aaron (Libby) Lock, Jefferson City; two nieces, Maggie Lock and Morgan Lock, Jefferson City; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Cornelia Bisges, and his paternal grandparents, Hugo and Matilda Lock.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with the Rev. Michael W. Penn officiating.

Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Xavier School Gym Renovation.

Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  6. You have a grand child. He was adopted. Thought you should know. When he was born he looked exactly like Matt. I heard he plays golf. I lost custody ߘ­. I pray you get this. His name is Tyler Campbell. His adoptive mom is Nicki Campbell she is a juvenile officer with Newton County. I have been kicked out of town because they want no contact. I will be arrested. They may do you the same. He’s your grandson.
