    • I was so saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I have known Mike for more years than I can count. My folks were good friends with his parents and I have listened to the many stories about their trip to Hawaii. Such an adventure! Mike and I were classmates, graduating together in 1964. We had some wonderful times at Jamestown C-1 and I always knew that he would go on to become something special and he certainly accomplished that. Please accept my sincere condolences to Michael’s family. Heaven just gained a new angel and our world has lost an incredible man.

  3. We valued Dr. Young’s friendship. His guidance working in dialysis was immeasurable. Prayers for the family. God has gained a new angel.

  4. Such a smart, compassionate physician and man! He not only gave to his patients but his country! I remember him coming into SSM CVSICU wearing his eagles after his promotion. He said” At ease I will be in the area for a few minutes” I said “ really, I will be here for the next 10 hours” Good memories! Sorry for your loss Ms Mary and family! I am truly blessed and thankful to know your family. Prayers for peace and comfort during this time.

  5. Mary & family I am so sorry for the loss of Michael. I pray the Lord comfort you and keep you.

  8. To the Young family. Being a nurse for 40 plus years in the Jefferson City area I can tell you Dr. Young was one of my favorites. He treated all medical personnel and patients with respect and care in addition to his great medical insight. May he rest. My condolences to family and close friends who mourn this loss. Prayers for all.

  9. My thoughts & prayers are with Mona ,Pat & all of the Young Family…with deepest sympathy from Debbie Branson & Family

  10. I first met Mike when he worked at the state health lab on Broadway before he was a physician and before I became an RN. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. Later I had the pleasure of working with him at St. Mary’s. May his family be comforted by all the lives he touched over the years.

  11. My family and Mike’s family have been friend since the mid 50’s. Many a Christmas Eve together as my Mon worked for Dr Young for many yrs. When his folks and my folks would get together they always had “Hi Balls”. I’m sure others drank but no one discussed it. Mike leaves so many memories for many people and will be greatly missed.

  12. Dr. Young was always able to take a few minutes for conversation, very pleasant to me and polite. Took good care of his patients.

  13. What an honor it was to work with Dr. Young with his nephrology patients at DCI over the years. He got to know each patient and would sit and visit with them while providing great care. He made such a huge difference in so many patient lives in central MO. He also would advocate for kidney health issues at the Capitol and with MO Kidney Program. He will be missed.

  14. Mary and family,
So sorry for your loss. Mike and Dean Morris were the Residents I worked with during my first rotation in Medical School. I learned a lot from Mike that month and considered him my friend from that time on. He will be deeply missed.

  15. The Missouri Kidney Program (MoKP) extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. Michael Allman Young.
Dr. Young, who served as the chairperson of the MoKP Advisory Council from 1995 to 2002, provided invaluable leadership and guidance to the program. He dedicated himself to compassionately serving renal patients throughout the state of Missouri.

We have so many memories to hold in our hearts from the time my father became friends with his father while working at Charles E. Still Hospital.
