Mildred Katherine Jens, 77, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, at Jefferson City Manor Care. She was born on April 7, 1929 in St. Louis, the daughter of Boise Alpha and Margaret Josephine Birlin McFarland. She was married in 1948 in St. Louis to Edward Henson Larkin. She was married on Aug. 2, 1959 in Jefferson City to Robert Edward Jens who died on Sept. 25, 2004. A graduate of Normandy High School in St. Louis, Mrs. Jens was employed with Southwestern Bell and later with Shelter Insurance Company for forty years as a claims specialist. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693 Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy and Mike Vivion, Jefferson City; and Carol Larkin, St. Louis; one stepson and his wife, Richard and Annie Jens, Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Angela Vivion Kennedy, Laura Vivion Rayburn, Eric Jens, Darren Jens, and Ashley Jens; four great-grandchildren; and one sister and one brother, Marian Gettemeir and Donald McFarland, both of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Julie Vivion. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Joseph L. Shetler officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Rites will also be conducted.
