Nelda Alma Brauner
March 22, 1917 ~ April 11, 2003
She was born in Brazito to Adam and Pauline Opel Scheperle. She was married on April 27, 1940 in Montgomery City to Louie John Brauner who died on November 1, 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Ranona M. "Ronnie" Hentges, Mokane; and Wilma L. Distler, Centertown; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ola Lieschiedt, Jefferson City; and one brother, Raymond Scheperle, Jefferson City. She was employed for thirty-three years as dessert and pastry chef at the Jefferson City Country Club. She had also served as head cook in the Executive Dining Room at Central Bank and at the private residence of Mr. Sam Cook for twenty years. She had designed and baked wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes through the years, including birthday cakes for the Governor's Mansion, and was associated with Ronnie Hentges Catering until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary.
