Nicholas John Raithel

Nicholas John “Nick” Raithel, 44, of Argyle, passed from this life Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Nick was born November 16, 1981, in Jefferson City, the oldest son of the late David John Raithel and Linda Sue (Korte) Raithel.  He graduated from Russellville High School in 2000 and went on to Linn Tech, where he earned his associate degree in construction management, concrete, and civil engineering.

Nick was united in marriage on May 1, 2010, at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown, to Cindy Marie Haller, and to this union 2 children were born.

Concrete ran in Nick’s blood. Beginning at about age 12, he worked at the family business, Raithel Brothers Construction, learning the trade from the ground up and eventually rising to serve as President.

When he wasn’t working, Nick loved farming, trail rides, cook-outs, and being outdoors.  Most of all, he loved hunting with his children, Emma and Henry.  Those days in the woods with his kids were the ones he treasured most.

Nick is survived by his wife, Cindy Raithel, of their home near Argyle; his daughter, Emma Raithel, and his son, Henry Raithel, both of the home; his brother, Brandon Raithel (Courtney), Taos; his parents-in-law, David and Donna Haller, Brinktown; sisters-in-law, Amy Neier (Cory), and Sara Campbell (Steven), both of Vienna; nieces and nephews, other extended family members, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Raithel and Linda Raithel; paternal grandparents, Alvin Raithel and Marcelline Raithel; and maternal grandparents, Ben Korte and Betty Korte.

Visitation for Nick will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Westphalia.

Funeral service for Nick will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2026, at the funeral home with Deacon Michael Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow at the Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery in Brinktown.  A luncheon will be served at the Holy Guardian Angels Hall following the burial.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Nick, You were a great person that touched so many lives. You will be greatly missed. Prayers for your family during this difficult time. 🙏

  2. Nick has been my buddy, my cousin…for almost my entire life. He always made me smile, even when I was a young, scared and shy new member in the Raithel family. From playing in the dirt piles at the Raithel Brother’s Construction office, to riding Carl’s mule out at the farm, deer hunting in the old caboose…so many memories. You will be dearly missed, Nick, and never forgotten. 💚🦌

  3. It is always sad to lose a brother, friend, cousin. We send our prayers and sympathy to Nick’s brothers and sisters and his family and especially to his two children. May his soul rest in peace now. There are many fond memories to share and I hope you remember him with laughter and family memories. May he always be with you in thoughts.

    Pat and Frank Taggart
