Norine A. Lage, 74, of Taos, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Nov. 11, 1933, in St.Thomas, Mo., the daughter of Stephen and Clara Luebbering Lackman. She was married on Feb. 20, 1954, in St. Thomas to Lawrence Bernard Lage who survives at the home. A homemaker, Mrs. Lage was co-owner with her husband of Lage Gardens and had also been employed with St. Marys Health Center, as a day-care worker, and with Wal-Mart. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos; St. Anns Sodality; Missouri Citizens for Life; Columbia and Jefferson City Farmers Market; and especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include nine daughters and their husbands, Alice (Bill) Gathright, Taos; Carolyn (Steve) Baker, Russellville; Betty (Doug) Distler, Jefferson City; Diane (Neil) Groves, Westphalia; Marie (Ronnie) Massman, Marys Home; Debbie (Gary) Hartman, California, Mo.; Brenda (Craig) Luebbert, Lees Summit, Mo.; Kathy (Roger) Kliethermes, Marys Home; and Lori (Jeremy) Tappel, Wardsville; three sons and their wives, Andy (Sharon) Lage, Marys Home; James (Lisa) Lage, Marys Home; and Gerry (Carol) Lage, California, Mo.; thirty-six grandchildren and their spouses, Curtis (Tere) Gathright; Kristen, Kevin, and Brian Gathright; Tawnya (Joe) Jaegers; Josh Lage; Missy (Keith) Phillips; Shelly (Andrew) Ortbals; Staci and Stephanie Baker; Josh (Shannon) Lage; Jason and Jonie Lage; Jamie Distler; Beth (John) Sweeten; Kasie and Amber Distler; John Groves; Sarah (Justin) Bruemmer; Jennifer, Jonathon, Brittney, and Kalie Massman; Heather, Lauren, and Ryan Hartman; Courtney and Seth Luebbert; Constance, Madison, Hannah, and Josh Kliethermes; Brooke and Bailey Lage; and Brady and Alex Tappel; seven great-grandchildren; Avery Gathright; Ronnie Jaegers; Addison and Bryce Phillips; Quinten and Alyssa Ortbals; and Kamryn Distler; six sisters and their husbands, Rosemary (Herbert) Otto, St. Anthony, Mo.; Virginia (Lenny) Billian, Towson, Md.; Dorothy (Charlie) Hartung, High Ridge, Mo; Sr. Cecilia Lackman, FSM, St. Louis; Julie (Ralph) Rodeman, Columbia; and Harriet Lackman, Jefferson City; and four brothers and their wives, Joseph (Dorothy) Lackman, Apple Creek, Ohio; Dave (Anna Marie) Lackman, Freeburg; Paul (Lillian) Lackman, St. Thomas; and Bernard (Elaine) Lackman, Centertown. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janice Lage; one son, Joseph Lage; two granddaughters, Audrey Lage and Jessica Hartman; and one sister, Frances Lackman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Taos. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14th, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at the church.
