Patricia Elizabeth Fromme, 87, of Taos, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Heisinger Bluffs after a long hard-fought battle with Parkinsons.

She was born March 28, 1937, in Taos, the daughter of Emil G. and Helen W. (Sanning) Ortmeyer.

Patricia was a 1955 graduate of Fatima High School.

She was united in marriage on June 14, 1958, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos to Jackson Francis Fromme who preceded her in death on December 9, 1999.

Patricia was employed for 36 years with the Missouri Department of Employment Security as a supervisor, retiring on May 31, 1996.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she served as a lector, communion minister, and helped count collection for many years, charter member of the Taos Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and member of the Disabled American Veterans auxiliary serving as past secretary and commander. She was a strong supporter of the American Cancer Society as a breast cancer survivor. She supported her husband with model railroading, watching EWTN and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, sewing, cooking, reading Danielle Steel books, and watching hummingbirds.

Patricia was a hardworking, loving and kind soul who would also take care of everyone else before herself. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Bev (John) Thessen, Taos; daughter-in-law, Sharraine Fromme; two grandchildren, Kristin (Matt) Scheppers; Jake (Rebecca) Thessen; one step-grandchild, Derrick (Marenda) Meister; two great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; ten siblings, Joanie Kliethermes, Lucille (Wilfred) Veltrop, Emil, Jr. (Ursula) Ortmeyer, Ruth (Dave) VanLoo, Mary Eichholz, Helen (Ken) Winge, John Ortmeyer, Louis Ortmeyer, Rose Ann Ortmeyer, Brenda (Ron) Rieke, and a sister-in-law, Donna Ortmeyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David Fromme; one brother, Michael Ortmeyer; brothers-in-law, Robert Eichholz and Dale Kliethermes; and a niece, Vicki Eichholz-Schulte and a nephew Julian Menke.

The family would like to thank the private care givers and the staff at Heisinger Bluffs for the loving care and compassion provided to Patricia over the past few years.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Porterfield officiating.

Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Church, Cole County Relay for Life Hummingbird Heroes.
