Pauline Margaret Rackers, 88, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 21, 2006, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on March 18, 1918 in Koeltztown, MO, the daughter of John and Christine Holterman Utrecht. She was married on Dec. 26, 1942 in Jefferson City to Jerome Henry Rackers who died on Oct. 14, 1957. After her husbands death, Pauline cared for her ailing mother and devoted her life to raising her six children. For fifteen years she babysat other peoples children and took in ironing so she could stay home and care for her children. For several years she was employed as a cook at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. Pauline was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Anns Sodality; Legion of Mary; St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary; and was a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels. She frequently cared for her sixteen grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends and cooking for her family. Survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law, Al and Hedy Rackers, Columbia; Ted and Vickie Rackers, Jefferson City; and Jane Schnieders, Jefferson City; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Glenn Rackers, Wardsville; Wanda and Kenny Lehmen, Osage Bend; and Mary and Tony Diemler, Jefferson City; fifteen grandchildren, Mike Rackers, Greg Rackers, Jerome Rackers, Jeff Rackers, Bruce Rackers, Amy Steinman, Nicole Nichols, Brian Lehmen, Brad Lehmen, Monica Rackers, Brandy Strickland, Sarah Sullens, Aaron Rackers, Natalie Diemler, and Garrett Diemler; and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Rackers; one grandson, Darren Rackers; one great-grandson, Joshua Nichols; three brothers, Fred Utrecht, Hubert Utrecht, and Arnold Utrecht; and two sisters, Cecilia Griffin and Josephine Heckman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. M. Brendan Griffey officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund, 1206 E.
