  1. I am lucky to have known Peggy and a better person for it. “No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away – until the clock he wound winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life…is only the core of their actual existence.”

  2. well said Don. I’ve known Peggy since 2007 when i started working for Soil & Water. Peggy was a committed and dedicated employee of Cole Co. SWCD; 36 years-impressive; as well as having served many yrs. as the exec. Director of the MASWCD. She was our go to person for many things. If she didn’t know, which wasn’t very often, she’d find the answers to your questions. She was endearing, professional, respected and a strong advocate for conservation. She wore many hats and juggled much; and was good at it. She served in many capacities, sat on several committees and was passionate about her work. She will be truly missed by so many, both personally and professionally. Her shoes will be hard to fill. Melissa White, Stone Co. Soil & Water Conservation District.

  3. To the family of Peggy Lemons: My name is Brad Powell and I have known and worked with Peggy for many years. She started working at the Cole county office one month before I began working for the Bates County office. Peggy was, is and will remain for years to come a force for Soil and Water Conservation in Missouri. As I know she was surely the “go to” person for your family, she was the “go to” person for soil and water conservation in Missouri. Nothing ever got her down. She was always able to figure it out and make it work. Her influence will be felt across the State of Missouri for many years. She had a genuine desire for the protection of our soil and water resources and for the people who worked along side her with that same desire. She spent countless hours working for the well being of our Human Resources, the Soil and Water Conservation District staff. Working for a Soil and Water Conservation District is a much more desirable occupation due to her efforts. I could go on and on but just know this, it was an honor and a privilege to work with Peggy. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and her friends.
