Peggy Lou Bryant

August 7, 1932 ~ March 10, 2025
Born in:
Jefferson City, Missouri
Resided in:
Lohman, Missouri
Peggy Lou Bryant, 92, of Lohman, MO passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her home. She was able to remain in her home due to the loving care provided by her son, Rick.
Peggy was born August 7, 1932 in Jefferson City, daughter of George and Bessie Coulter. She married Elmo Bryant in 1952. They had five children; Jan (Joe) Soucie, Rick Bryant, Doug (Melanie) Bryant, Robin Barbour and Jeff (Linda) Bryant. After raising her children, Peggy was employed at J.C. Penney until she left to care for her grandchildren. They enjoyed many hours of swimming and camping. As the grandchildren got older she began volunteering with the Cole County Historical Society and the Secretary of State office. She was an expert genealogist and did much research for people through the Historical Society. Peggy traced her own roots to John Colter of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Peggy loved her God and her family above all. She enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren and later playing with her great grandchildren. Peggy was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was adventurous and during her life traveled over most of the United States, usually camping-which she loved. Peggy rarely missed any sporting or other event that her grandchildren participated in. She was definitely their number one fan. Peggy loved to Line Dance, quilt, do impossible jig saw puzzles, bird watching and playing cards with her friends.
Survivors include her five children; five grandchildren, Cody, Shelby, Alex, Beau and Colter; five great grandchildren, Noah, Letti, Trinity, Gus and Jolene and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Orville, Clyde, Claude, Erman, George and Charles; five sisters, Ruth, Myrtle, Nellie, Audrey and Bessie.

Jan, so sorry for your loss. Even when we know it’s time for them to go, we miss them.
Linda Brondel Sommers
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. May your memories of her help you now and through the coming days and years.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
To Robin and all of the Bryant family I send my regards and condolences to each of you in the passing of Peggy Lou. She was an amazing woman and as I told Robin she really helped grow us up! I’m thankful for her and her Christian influence for so many. May she rest in peace in the hands of Jesus!
I worked with Peggy for several years at the Missouri State Archives. She often mentioned her grandkids, and going camping with family, as well as tracing her ancestors, especially the Lewis and Clark connection. I’m glad I had a chance to know her.
